HELPING PEOPLE TO FIND OUT THEIR OWN VOICE AND TEACHING THEM TO OVERCOME DIFFICULTIES THROUGH THE MAGIC OF ART AND MEDITATION IS THE OBJECTIVE OF PICS PROJECT

Art is often mistaken as some sort of "fancy" activity only affordable to those who can have the luxury of extra income or time to pursue a "hobby". This couldn't be further from the reality. Art is defined as the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination to produce works that can be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power.

PICS was born as a necessity to help those who have gone through difficult hardships in life and survived dramatic experiences such as war, poverty, abuse, abandonment, depression, and other difficult events that inhibit their emotions from having a positive outlet. Art has offered to me a door to a world of opportunities to deal with my own emotions and be aware of my feelings.

I am the first one to admit that art has saved my life during moments where nothing else seemed to be enough. Going through the difficulties of an abusive marriage and a bitter divorce, inspired me to search for help within and found painting to be the one thing that gave me the strength to continue. I want to share with others, particularly children, what I've learned through my journey, that pouring paint it is more than drawing techniques and a boring step-by-step painting class. I have expanded my background as an artist with Art as Therapy coach certification but unlike a psychologist,

I utilize meditation and I focus on the fun part of intuitive colors and shapes. Problems can not only be overcome but turn into a learning experience with beautiful results.

My goal is to show every kid that if they are capable of making a masterpiece without any previous experience, then they are capable of doing whatever they set their mind to do.
